1Ah! Rebellious and polluted,the tyrannical city!

2Não obedeceu à sua voz, não aceitou o castigo; não confiou no SENHOR; nem se aproximou do seu Deus.

2It listens to no voice,accepts no correction;In the Lord it has not trusted,nor drawn near to its God.

3Os seus príncipes são leões rugidores no meio dela; os seus juízes são lobos da tarde, que não deixam os ossos para a manhã.

3Its officials within itare roaring lions;Its judges are desert wolvesthat have no bones to gnaw by morning.

4Os seus profetas são levianos, homens aleivosos; os seus sacerdotes profanaram o santuário, e fizeram violência à lei.

4Its prophets are reckless,treacherous people;Its priests profane what is holy,and do violence to the law.

5O SENHOR é justo no meio dela; ele não comete iniqüidade; cada manhã traz o seu juízo à luz; nunca falta; mas o perverso não conhece a vergonha.

5But the Lord in its midst is just,doing no wrong;Morning after morning rendering judgmentunfailingly, at dawn;the wicked, however, know no shame.

6Exterminei as nações, as suas torres estão assoladas; fiz desertas as suas praças, a ponto de não ficar quem passe por elas; as suas cidades foram destruídas, até não ficar ninguém, até não haver quem as habite.

6I have cut down nations,their battlements are laid waste;I have made their streets deserted,with no one passing through;Their cities are devastated,with no one dwelling in them.

7Eu dizia: Certamente me temerás, e aceitarás a correção, e assim a sua morada não seria destruída, conforme tudo aquilo porque a castiguei; mas eles se levantaram de madrugada, corromperam todas as suas obras.

7I said, "Surely now you will fear me,you will accept correction;They cannot fail to seeall I have brought upon them."Yet the more eagerly they have doneall their corrupt deeds.

8Portanto esperai-me, diz o SENHOR, no dia em que eu me levantar para o despojo; porque o meu decreto é ajuntar as nações e congregar os reinos, para sobre eles derramar a minha indignação, e todo o ardor da minha ira; porque toda esta terra será consumida pelo fogo do meu zelo.

8Therefore, wait for me—oracle of the Lord—until the day when I arise as accuser;For it is my decision to gather nations,to assemble kingdoms,In order to pour out upon them my wrath,all my blazing anger;For in the fire of my passionall the earth will be consumed.

9Porque então darei uma linguagem pura aos povos, para que todos invoquem o nome do SENHOR, para que o sirvam com um mesmo consenso.

9For then I will make purethe speech of the peoples,That they all may call upon the name of the Lord,to serve him with one accord;

10Dalém dos rios da Etiópia, meus zelosos adoradores, que constituem a filha dos meus dispersos, me trarão sacrifício.

10From beyond the rivers of Ethiopiaand as far as the recesses of the North,they shall bring me offerings.

11Naquele dia não te envergonharás de nenhuma das tuas obras, com as quais te rebelaste contra mim; porque então tirarei do meio de ti os que exultam na tua soberba, e tu nunca mais te ensoberbecerás no meu monte santo.

11On that dayYou will not be ashamedof all your deeds,when you rebelled against me;For then I will remove from your midstthe proud braggarts,And you shall no longer exalt yourselfon my holy mountain.

12Mas deixarei no meio de ti um povo humilde e pobre; e eles confiarão no nome do SENHOR.

12But I will leave as a remnant in your midsta people humble and lowly,Who shall take refuge in the name of the Lord—

13O remanescente de Israel não cometerá iniqüidade, nem proferirá mentira, e na sua boca não se achará língua enganosa; mas serão apascentados, e deitar-se-ão, e não haverá quem os espante.

13the remnant of Israel.They shall do no wrongand speak no lies;Nor shall there be found in their mouthsa deceitful tongue;They shall pasture and lie downwith none to disturb them.

14Canta alegremente, ó filha de Sião; rejubila, ó Israel; regozija-te, e exulta de todo o coração, ó filha de Jerusalém.

14Shout for joy, daughter Zion!sing joyfully, Israel!Be glad and exult with all your heart,daughter Jerusalem!

15O SENHOR afastou os teus juízos, exterminou o teu inimigo; o SENHOR, o rei de Israel, está no meio de ti; tu não verás mais mal algum.

15The Lord has removed the judgment against you,he has turned away your enemies;The King of Israel, the Lord, is in your midst,you have no further misfortune to fear.

16Naquele dia se dirá a Jerusalém: Não temas, ó Sião, não se enfraqueçam as tuas mãos.

16On that day, it shall be said to Jerusalem:Do not fear, Zion,do not be discouraged!

17O SENHOR teu Deus, o poderoso, está no meio de ti, ele salvará; ele se deleitará em ti com alegria; calar-se-á por seu amor, regozijar-se-á em ti com júbilo.

17The Lord, your God, is in your midst,a mighty savior,Who will rejoice over you with gladness,and renew you in his love,Who will sing joyfully because of you,

18Os entristecidos por causa da reunião solene, congregarei; esses que são de ti e para os quais o opróbrio dela era um peso.

18as on festival days.I will remove disaster from among you,so that no one may recount your disgrace.

19Eis que naquele tempo procederei contra todos os que te afligem, e salvarei a que coxeia, e recolherei a que foi expulsa; e deles farei um louvor e um nome em toda a terra em que foram envergonhados.

19At that time I will dealwith all who oppress you;I will save the lame,and assemble the outcasts;I will give them praise and renownin every land where they were shamed.

20Naquele tempo vos farei voltar, naquele tempo vos recolherei; certamente farei de vós um nome e um louvor entre todos os povos da terra, quando fizer voltar os vossos cativos diante dos vossos olhos, diz o SENHOR.

20At that time I will bring you home,and at that time I will gather you;For I will give you renown and praise,among all the peoples of the earth,When I bring about your restorationbefore your very eyes, says the Lord.
