1Prosseguindo Jó em seu discurso, disse:

1Then Job continued his discourse and said,

2Tão certo como vive Deus, que me tirou o direito, e o Todo-poderoso, que me amargurou a alma;

2'As God lives, who has taken away my right, And the Almighty, who has embittered my soul,
AS21
3enquanto eu tiver alento, e o sopro de Deus estiver nas minhas narinas,

3For as long as life is in me, And the breath of God is in my nostrils,

4os meus lábios não falarão maldade, nem a minha língua pronunciará engano.
NASB
4My lips certainly will not speak unjustly, Nor will my tongue mutter deceit.

5Longe de mim eu vos dar razão; até que eu morra, nunca me afastarei da minha integridade.

5'Far be it from me that I should declare you right; Till I die I will not put away my integrity from me.

6Eu me apegarei à minha justiça e não a largarei; o meu coração não reprova nenhum dia da minha vida.

6'I hold fast my righteousness and will not let it go. My heart does not reproach any of my days.

7Seja o meu inimigo como o ímpio, e como o perverso o meu opositor.

7'May my enemy be as the wicked And my opponent as the unjust.

8Pois qual será a esperança do ímpio, quando Deus o cortar, quando Deus lhe tirar a alma?

8'For what is the hope of the godless when he is cut off, When God requires his life?

9Por acaso Deus ouvirá o seu clamor, quando chegar a tribulação?
NASB
9'Will God hear his cry When distress comes upon him?

10Ele se deleitará no Todo-poderoso, ou invocará a Deus em todo o tempo?
NASB
10'Will he take delight in the Almighty? Will he call on God at all times?

11Eu vos ensinarei acerca do poder de Deus; não vos encobrirei o que está com o Todo-poderoso.

11'I will instruct you in the power of God; What is with the Almighty I will not conceal.

12Todos vós já vistes isso; por que vos entregais completamente às palavras inúteis?
NASB
12'Behold, all of you have seen ; Why then do you act foolishly?

13Esta é a porção que Deus dá ao ímpio, a herança que os opressores recebem do Todo-poderoso:

13'This is the portion of a wicked man from God, And the inheritance tyrants receive from the Almighty.

14Se os seus filhos se multiplicarem, será isso para a espada; e a sua prole não se fartará de alimento.
NASB
14'Though his sons are many, they are destined for the sword; And his descendants will not be satisfied with bread.

15Os seus descendentes que sobreviverem morrerão pela peste, e as suas viúvas não chorarão.

15'His survivors will be buried because of the plague, And their widows will not be able to weep.

16Embora amontoe prata como pó, e acumule roupas como barro,

16'Though he piles up silver like dust And prepares garments as the clay,
AS21
17o justo vestirá as que ele acumular, e o inocente repartirá a prata.

17He may prepare , but the just will wear And the innocent will divide the silver.

18A casa que ele constrói é como a teia da aranha, como a cabana que o guarda faz.
NASB
18'He has built his house like the spider's web, Or as a hut the watchman has made.
AS21
19Rico se deita, mas logo não o será mais; abre os olhos, e sua riqueza já se foi.

19'He lies down rich, but never again; He opens his eyes, and it is no longer.
AS21
20Pavores o alcançam como um dilúvio; a tempestade o arrebata de noite.
NASB
20'Terrors overtake him like a flood; A tempest steals him away in the night.
AS21
21O vento oriental o leva, e ele se vai; sim, varre-o com ímpeto do seu lugar.

21'The east wind carries him away, and he is gone, For it whirls him away from his place.
AS21
22Pois atira contra ele sem poupá-lo, e ele, de forma precipitada, foge do seu poder.

22'For it will hurl at him without sparing; He will surely try to flee from its power.
AS21
23Bate palmas contra ele, e do seu lugar assobia contra ele.
NASB
23' will clap their hands at him And will hiss him from his place.
