1Ai da rebelde, da poluída, da cidade maligna,

1Woe to her who is rebellious and defiled, the oppressing city!

2cidade que não escutou o chamado, que não aprendeu a lição. Não confiou no SENHOR, não se aproximou do seu Deus.

2She listens to no voice; she accepts no correction. She does not trust in the LORD; she does not draw near to her God.

3Seus chefes, que estão dentro dela, são como leões a rugir, seus juizes são lobos do campo que hoje nada comeram.

3Her officials within her are roaring lions; her judges are evening wolves that leave nothing till the morning.

4Seus profetas são uns fanfarrões, mestres na traição; seus sacerdotes profanam as coisas santas e violentam a lei de Deus.

4Her prophets are fickle, treacherous men; her priests profane what is holy; they do violence to the law.

5Entretanto, no meio dela está o SENHOR, o justo, que jamais pratica uma injustiça: Todo dia ele dá sua sentença, como a luz do dia que nunca falha. O criminoso, porém, não reconhece a sua culpa.

5The LORD within her is righteous; he does no injustice; every morning he shows forth his justice; each dawn he does not fail; but the unjust knows no shame.

6“Eu destruí nações inteiras: suas torres de vigia estão arrasadas, suas ruas deixei desertas, sem nenhum transeunte, as cidades, devastadas, sem ninguém, sem qualquer morador.

6“I have cut off nations; their battlements are in ruins; I have laid waste their streets so that no one walks in them; their cities have been made desolate, without a man, without an inhabitant.

7E eu que pensava: Quem sabe agora ela terá o meu temor, aprenderá a lição, e sua morada não seja destruída quando eu lhe pedir contas. Mas eles se apressavam em perverter a própria conduta.

7I said, ‘Surely you will fear me; you will accept correction. Then your dwelling would not be cut off according to all that I have appointed against you.’ But all the more they were eager to make all their deeds corrupt.

8Por isso — oráculo do SENHOR — espera pelo dia em que ficarei de pé como testemunha. Pois decidi reunir as nações, aliar os reinos, para despejar contra vós todo o meu furor, o ardor da minha ira. O país inteiro será consumido pelo fogo da minha paixão.

8“Therefore wait for me,” declares the LORD, “for the day when I rise up to seize the prey. For my decision is to gather nations, to assemble kingdoms, to pour out upon them my indignation, all my burning anger; for in the fire of my jealousy all the earth shall be consumed.

9“Então, tornarei puros os lábios dos povos, para que possam todos invocar o nome do SENHOR e servir ao SENHOR, todos juntos.

9“For at that time I will change the speech of the peoples to a pure speech, that all of them may call upon the name of the LORD and serve him with one accord.

10A oferta, meus adoradores vão trazê-la do outro lado dos rios da Etiópia.

10From beyond the rivers of Cush my worshipers, the daughter of my dispersed ones, shall bring my offering.

11“Nesse dia não precisarás mais ter vergonha das ações com que me ofendeste, pois estarei tirando do teu meio teus arrogantes fanfarrões. É assim que na minha montanha santa nunca mais estarás te envaidecendo.

11“On that day you shall not be put to shame because of the deeds by which you have rebelled against me; for then I will remove from your midst your proudly exultant ones, and you shall no longer be haughty in my holy mountain.

12Em teu meio deixarei apenas um povo sofrido e fraco” — um resto de Israel, que buscará apoio no nome do SENHOR.

12But I will leave in your midst a people humble and lowly. They shall seek refuge in the name of the LORD,

13Ninguém mais praticará a injustiça, nem contará mentias, nem mais sairão de suas bocas palavras enganadoras e, assim, todos poderão comer e descansar sem que ninguém os incomode.

13those who are left in Israel; they shall do no injustice and speak no lies, nor shall there be found in their mouth a deceitful tongue. For they shall graze and lie down, and none shall make them afraid.”

14Grita de alegria, filha de Sião! Canta, Israel! Filha de Jerusalém fica contente, de todo o coração, dá gritos de alegria!

14Sing aloud, O daughter of Zion; shout, O Israel! Rejoice and exult with all your heart, O daughter of Jerusalem!

15O SENHOR aboliu a sentença contra ti, afastou teus inimigos. O rei de Israel é o SENHOR, que está em teu meio; não precisarás mais ter medo de alguma desgraça.

15The LORD has taken away the judgments against you; he has cleared away your enemies. The King of Israel, the LORD, is in your midst; you shall never again fear evil.

16Naquele dia, Deus dirá a Jerusalém: “Não tenhas medo, Sião! Não te acovardes!

16On that day it shall be said to Jerusalem: “Fear not, O Zion; let not your hands grow weak.

17O SENHOR teu Deus está a teu lado como valente libertador! Por tua causa ele está contente e alegre, apaixonado de amor por ti, por tua causa está saltando de alegria,

17The LORD your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.

18como em dias de festa”. “Afastarei a desgraça para longe de ti a fim de que, por sua causa, não venhas a sofrer humilhação.

18I will gather those of you who mourn for the festival, so that you will no longer suffer reproach.

19Provocarei a destruição de todos os que te oprimiram naqueles tempos; aos mutilados vou recuperar e aos que se dispersaram vou ajuntar. Darei a eles glória e fama em qualquer terra onde ficaram derrotados.

19Behold, at that time I will deal with all your oppressors. And I will save the lame and gather the outcast, and I will change their shame into praise and renown in all the earth.

20Nesse tempo eu vos farei vir para casa, então vou reunir-vos. Eu vos darei fama e glória entre todos os povos da terra, quando, bem diante de vossos olhos, eu mudar vosso destino”, diz o SENHOR.

20At that time I will bring you in, at the time when I gather you together; for I will make you renowned and praised among all the peoples of the earth, when I restore your fortunes before your eyes,” says the LORD.
