2my groans and cries?King-God, I need your help.

2Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God; For unto thee do I pray.

3Every morningyou'll hear me at it again.Every morningI lay out the pieces of my lifeon your altarand watch for fire to descend.

3O Jehovah, in the morning shalt thou hear my voice; In the morning will I order my prayer unto thee, and will keep watch.

4You don't socialize with Wicked,or invite Evil over as your houseguest.

4For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: Evil shall not sojourn with thee.

5Hot-Air-Boaster collapses in front of you;you shake your head over Mischief-Maker.

5The arrogant shall not stand in thy sight: Thou hatest all workers of iniquity.

6God destroys Lie-Speaker;Blood-Thirsty and Truth-Bender disgust you.

6Thou wilt destroy them that speak lies: Jehovah abhorreth the blood-thirsty and deceitful man.

7And here I am, your invited guest—it's incredible!I enter your house; here I am,prostrate in your inner sanctum,

7But as for me, in the abundance of thy lovingkindness will I come into thy house: In thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple.

8Waiting for directionsto get me safely through enemy lines.

8Lead me, O Jehovah, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; Make thy way straight before my face.

9Every word they speak is a land mine;their lungs breathe out poison gas.Their throats are gaping graves,their tongues slick as mudslides.

9For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; Their inward part is very wickedness; Their throat is an open sepulchre; They flatter with their tongue.

10Pile on the guilt, God!Let their so-called wisdom wreck them.Kick them out! They've had their chance.

10Hold them guilty, O God; Let them fall by their own counsels; Thrust them out in the multitude of their transgressions; For they have rebelled against thee.

11But you'll welcome us with open armswhen we run for cover to you.Let the party last all night!Stand guard over our celebration.

11But let all those that take refuge in thee rejoice, Let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: Let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.

12You are famous, God, for welcoming God-seekers,for decking us out in delight.

12For thou wilt bless the righteous; O Jehovah, thou wilt compass him with favor as with a shield.
