1In the eighth month of the second year in the reign of Darius, God's Message came to the prophet Zechariah son of Berechiah, son of Iddo:

1No oitavo mês do segundo ano de Dario, a palavra do SENHOR veio ao profeta Zacarias, filho de Baraquias, filho de Ado, nestes termos:

2"God was very angry with your ancestors.

2“O SENHOR ficou extremamente irritado contra os vossos antepassados.

3So give to the people this Message from God-of-the-Angel-Armies: 'Come back to me and I'll come back to you.

3Dirás, então, a eles: Assim diz o SENHOR dos exércitos: Voltai para mim, que eu voltarei a vós!, diz o SENHOR dos exércitos.

4Don't be like your parents. The old-time prophets called out to them, "A Message from God-of-the-Angel-Armies: Leave your evil life. Quit your evil practices." But they ignored everything I said to them, stubbornly refused to listen.'

4Não façais como os antepassados. Os antigos profetas chamavam-lhes a atenção: ‘Voltai atrás de vossos caminhos injustos, de vossas más ações! ’, mas eles não ouviram nem me deram atenção — oráculo do SENHOR.

5"And where are your ancestors now? Dead and buried. And the prophets who preached to them? Also dead and buried. But the Message that my servants the prophets spoke, that isn't dead and buried.

6That Message did its work on your ancestors, did it not? It woke them up and they came back, saying, 'He did what he said he would do, sure enough. We didn't get by with a thing.' "

6Mas a minha palavra e as ordens que dei aos profetas, meus servos, acaso não atingiram vossos pais? Pois eles se converteram e passaram a dizer assim: ‘O SENHOR dos exércitos nos fez tudo o que tinha pensado, exatamente de acordo com o nosso comportamento e nossas injustiças’”.

7On the twenty-fourth day of the eleventh month in the second year of the reign of Darius, the Message of God was given to the prophet Zechariah son of Berechiah, son of Iddo:

7No dia vinte e quatro do décimo primeiro mês do segundo ano de Dario, a palavra do SENHOR veio a Zacarias, filho de Ado, da seguinte forma:

8One night I looked out and saw a man astride a red horse. He was in the shadows in a grove of birches. Behind him were more horses—a red, a chestnut, and a white.

8“Tive uma visão à noite. Era um homem montando um cavalo vermelho, parado num lugar escuro no meio de murtas que estavam no fundo. Atrás deles estavam cavalos vermelhos, alazões e brancos.

9I said, "Sir, what are these horses doing here? What's the meaning of this?"The Angel-Messenger said, "Let me show you."

9Perguntei: ‘Quem são eles, meu SENHOR? ’ E o anjo que falava comigo respondeu: ‘Vou mostrar-te quem são eles’.

10Then the rider in the birch grove spoke up, "These are the riders that God sent to check things out on earth."

10O homem que estava parado entre as murtas respondeu: ‘Estes são aqueles que o SENHOR mandou para percorrerem o país’.

11They reported their findings to the Angel of God in the birch grove: "We have looked over the whole earth and all is well. Everything's under control."

11E eles trouxeram a resposta ao anjo do SENHOR que estava no meio das murtas: ‘Percorremos o país, e ele está povoado e tranqüilo’.

12The Angel of God reported back, "O God-of-the-Angel-Armies, how long are you going to stay angry with Jerusalem and the cities of Judah? When are you going to let up? Isn't seventy years long enough?"

12E o anjo do SENHOR acudiu: ‘SENHOR dos exércitos, até quando ficarás sem mostrar compaixão por Jerusalém e pelos povoados de Judá, contra os quais ficaste irado há setenta anos? ’

13God reassured the Angel-Messenger—good words, comforting words—

13Ao anjo que falava comigo o SENHOR falou palavras de bênção, palavras de ternura.

14who then addressed me: "Tell them this. Tell them that God-of-the-Angel-Armies has spoken. This is God's Message: 'I care deeply for Jerusalem and Zion. I feel very possessive of them.

14E o anjo que comigo falava disse-me: ‘Grita: Assim diz o SENHOR dos exércitos: Tenho enorme paixão por Jerusalém, por Sião!

15But I'm thoroughly angry with the godless nations that act as if they own the whole world. I was only moderately angry earlier, but now they've gone too far. I'm going into action.

15Grande é também a raiva que sinto das nações satisfeitas, pois quando minha ira foi pequena contra elas, continuaram dando forças à injustiça.

16" 'I've come back to Jerusalem, but with compassion this time.'This is God speaking.'I'll see to it that my Temple is rebuilt.'A Decree of God-of-the-Angel-Armies!'The rebuilding operation is already staked out.'

16É por isso que assim diz o SENHOR: Eu me volto para Jerusalém com ternura, ali será construída a minha casa, oráculo do SENHOR dos exércitos. Linhas de pedreiro serão esticadas em Jerusalém.

17Say it again—a Decree of God-of-the-Angel-Armies:'My cities will prosper again,God will comfort Zion again,Jerusalem will be back in my favor again.' "

17Grita mais uma vez: Assim diz o SENHOR dos exércitos: Minhas cidades terão de novo fartura de tudo o que é bom. O SENHOR ainda terá carinho por Sião, ainda vai eleger Jerusalém’.

18I looked up, and was surprised by another vision: four horns!

19I asked the Messenger-Angel, "And what's the meaning of this?"He said, "These are the powers that have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem abroad."

20Then God expanded the vision to include four blacksmiths.
CNBB—
MSG
21I asked, "And what are these all about?"He said, "Since the 'horns' scattered Judah so badly that no one had any hope left, these blacksmiths have arrived to combat the horns. They'll dehorn the godless nations who used their horns to scatter Judah to the four winds."
