2“Speak to all the congregation of the children of Israel, and tell them, ‘You shall be holy; for I, Yahweh your God, am holy.

2que comunicasse o seguinte ao povo de Israel: “Sejam santos, porque eu, o SENHOR, vosso Deus, sou santo.

3“‘Each one of you shall respect his mother and his father. You shall keep my Sabbaths. I am Yahweh your God.

3Devem respeitar as vossas mães e os vossos pais. Deverão também guardar a lei do meu sábado. Porque eu sou o SENHOR, vosso Deus.

4“‘Don’t turn to idols, nor make molten gods for yourselves. I am Yahweh your God.

4Não façam nem adorem ídolos, deuses de metal fundido. Eu sou o SENHOR, o vosso Deus.

5“‘When you offer a sacrifice of peace offerings to Yahweh, you shall offer it so that you may be accepted.

5Quando vierem oferecer uma oferta de paz ao SENHOR, façam-no de modo voluntário e corretamente, para que seja aceite.

6It shall be eaten the same day you offer it, and on the next day: and if anything remains until the third day, it shall be burned with fire.

6Comam-no no mesmo dia em que o oferecerem, ou o mais tardar no dia seguinte. O que ficar para o terceiro dia deve ser queimado,

7If it is eaten at all on the third day, it is an abomination. It will not be accepted;

7porque aquilo que viesse a ser comido no terceiro dia seria repulsivo para mim, e eu não o aceitaria.

8but everyone who eats it shall bear his iniquity, because he has profaned the holy thing of Yahweh, and that soul shall be cut off from his people.

8Portanto, se comerem disso no terceiro dia serão culpados, porque assim será profanada a santidade de SENHOR, e serão excomungados do povo do SENHOR.

9“‘When you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not wholly reap the corners of your field, neither shall you gather the gleanings of your harvest.

9Quando fizerem as colheitas nas vossas terras, não ceifem os cantos dos campos completamente, nem apanhem as espigas que forem caindo no chão.

10You shall not glean your vineyard, neither shall you gather the fallen grapes of your vineyard. You shall leave them for the poor and for the foreigner. I am Yahweh your God.

10E o mesmo também durante as vindimas; não apanhem tudo até ao último bago, nas vinhas, nem tão-pouco apanhem os que caírem no chão. Deixem-nos para os pobres e para os que viajem através da terra. Porque eu sou o SENHOR, o vosso Deus.

12“‘You shall not swear by my name falsely, and profane the name of your God. I am Yahweh.

20“‘If a man lies carnally with a woman who is a slave girl, pledged to be married to another man, and not ransomed, or given her freedom; they shall be punished. They shall not be put to death, because she was not free.

23“‘When you come into the land, and have planted all kinds of trees for food, then you shall count their fruit as forbidden. Three years they shall be forbidden to you. It shall not be eaten.

23Quando se instalarem na terra e tiverem plantado toda a espécie de árvores de fruto, não deverão comer as três primeiras colheitas, porque são consideradas impuras.

24But in the fourth year all its fruit shall be holy, for giving praise to Yahweh.

24E ao quarto ano todo o fruto colhido será dedicado ao SENHOR, em louvor a ele.

25In the fifth year you shall eat its fruit, that it may yield its increase to you. I am Yahweh your God.

25Finalmente, no quinto ano comerás do que colheres, e assim a vossa colheita aumentará. Eu sou o SENHOR, o vosso Deus!

26“‘You shall not eat any meat with the blood still in it. You shall not use enchantments, nor practice sorcery.

26Não devem comer nada com o seu sangue. Nunca recorram a leitura de sinas, nem a bruxarias ou coisas semelhantes.

27“‘You shall not cut the hair on the sides of your head or clip off the edge of your beard.

27Não cortem o cabelo, arredondando-o nos cantos da cabeça, nem cortem também os cantos da barba, como fazem os pagãos.

28“‘You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor tattoo any marks on you. I am Yahweh.

28Tão-pouco devem dar golpes na vossa carne ou fazer marcas na pele a título de ritos funerários, por causa de alguém que tenha morrido. Eu sou o SENHOR.

29“‘Don’t profane your daughter, to make her a prostitute; lest the land fall to prostitution, and the land become full of wickedness.

29Não violem a santidade da vossa filha, levando-a a prostituir-se, porque a terra se encheria de maldade.

30“‘You shall keep my Sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary; I am Yahweh.

30Guardem os meus sábados e reverenciem o meu tabernáculo. Eu sou o SENHOR.

31“‘Don’t turn to those who are mediums, nor to the wizards. Don’t seek them out, to be defiled by them. I am Yahweh your God.

31Não se sujem, voltando-se para os médiuns e adivinhos. Eu sou o SENHOR, o vosso Deus.

32“‘You shall rise up before the gray head, and honor the face of an old man, and you shall fear your God. I am Yahweh.

32Devem honrar e respeitar os mais velhos, os que têm os seus cabelos já brancos, porque assim respeitarão também a Deus. Eu sou o SENHOR.

33“‘If a stranger lives as a foreigner with you in your land, you shall not do him wrong.

33Não explorem o estrangeiro que vier instalar-se na vossa terra; não o oprimam.

34The stranger who lives as a foreigner with you shall be to you as the native-born among you, and you shall love him as yourself; for you lived as foreigners in the land of Egypt. I am Yahweh your God.

34Ele deve ser tratado como qualquer outro cidadão. Amem-no como a vocês mesmos; não se esqueçam que foram também estrangeiros no Egito. Eu sou o SENHOR, o vosso Deus.

35“‘You shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in measures of length, of weight, or of quantity.

35Devem ser imparciais quando julgarem. Usem medidas corretas para medir o comprimento, para pesar, para calcular o volume.

36You shall have just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin. I am Yahweh your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt.

36Que as balanças não sejam fraudulentas e que as vossas medidas sejam sempre exatas, porque eu sou o SENHOR, o vosso Deus, que vos tirou da terra do Egito.

37“‘You shall observe all my statutes, and all my ordinances, and do them. I am Yahweh.’”
