1No terceiro ano do reinado do rei Belsazar eu, Daniel, tive uma visão depois daquela que tive no princípio.

1In the third year of the reign of king Belshazzar a vision appeared to me, even to me, Daniel, after that which appeared to me at the first.

2E na visão parecia-me que eu estava na cidadela de Susã, na província de Elão; e, naquela visão, eu estava à margem do rio Ulai.

2I saw in the vision; now it was so, that when I saw, I was in the citadel of Susa, which is in the province of Elam; and I saw in the vision, and I was by the river Ulai.

3Levantei os olhos, olhei e vi em pé, diante do rio, um carneiro com dois chifres. Os dois chifres eram altos, mas um era mais alto que o outro, e o mais alto subiu por último.

3Then I lifted up my eyes, and saw, and behold, there stood before the river a ram which had two horns: and the two horns were high; but one was higher than the other, and the higher came up last.

4Vi que o carneiro dava marradas para o ocidente, para o norte e para o sul; nenhum dos animais lhe podia resistir, nem havia quem pudesse livrar-se do seu poder; ele fazia o que desejava e crescia.

4I saw the ram pushing westward, and northward, and southward; and no animals could stand before him, neither was there any who could deliver out of his hand; but he did according to his will, and magnified himself.

5Enquanto eu considerava isso, vi que um bode vinha do ocidente por sobre a face de toda a terra, mas sem tocar no chão; e aquele bode tinha um chifre proeminente entre os olhos.

5As I was considering, behold, a male goat came from the west over the surface of the whole earth, and didn’t touch the ground: and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes.

6Ele se dirigiu ao carneiro que tinha os dois chifres, o qual eu havia visto em pé diante do rio, e correu contra ele no furor da sua força.

6He came to the ram that had the two horns, which I saw standing before the river, and ran on him in the fury of his power.

7Eu o vi aproximar-se do carneiro, cheio de ira; assim, ele o feriu e lhe quebrou os dois chifres. O carneiro não tinha força para lhe resistir, e o bode o jogou por terra e o pisoteou; também não havia quem pudesse livrar o carneiro do seu poder.

7I saw him come close to the ram, and he was moved with anger against him, and struck the ram, and broke his two horns; and there was no power in the ram to stand before him; but he cast him down to the ground, and trampled on him; and there was no one who could deliver the ram out of his hand.

8O bode cresceu muito e, no auge de sua força, aquele grande chifre foi quebrado e no seu lugar nasceram outros quatro, também proeminentes, para os quatro lados do céu.

8The male goat magnified himself exceedingly: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and instead of it there came up four notable horns toward the four winds of the sky.

9E saiu um chifre pequeno de um deles; este cresceu muito para o sul, para o oriente e para a Terra Gloriosa;

9Out of one of them came out a little horn, which grew exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the glorious land.

10e cresceu até o exército do céu; e jogou por terra algumas das estrelas desse exército, e as pisou.

10It grew great, even to the army of the sky; and some of the army and of the stars it cast down to the ground, and trampled on them.

11Ele cresceu até confrontar o príncipe do exército; e lhe tirou o holocausto contínuo, e o lugar do seu santuário foi jogado por terra.

11Yes, it magnified itself, even to the prince of the army; and it took away from him the continual burnt offering, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down.

12E o exército lhe foi entregue, juntamente com o holocausto contínuo, por causa da transgressão. Lançou a verdade por terra, fez o que era do seu agrado e prosperou.

12The army was given over to it together with the continual burnt offering through disobedience; and it cast down truth to the ground, and it did its pleasure and prospered.

13Depois ouvi um ser santo que falava; e outro ser santo disse àquele que falava: Até quando durará a visão sobre o holocausto contínuo e sobre a transgressão assoladora, e a entrega do santuário e do exército para serem pisados?

13Then I heard a holy one speaking; and another holy one said to that certain one who spoke, How long shall be the vision about the continual burnt offering, and the disobedience that makes desolate, to give both the sanctuary and the army to be trodden under foot?

14Ele me respondeu: Até duas mil e trezentas tardes e manhãs; então o santuário será purificado.

14He said to me, To two thousand and three hundred evenings and mornings; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.

15Enquanto eu, Daniel, observava a visão, procurei entendê-la, e vi alguém parecido com um homem diante de mim.

15When I, even I Daniel, had seen the vision, I sought to understand it; and behold, there stood before me as the appearance of a man.

16E ouvi uma voz de homem entre as margens do Ulai, a qual gritou e disse: Gabriel, faz que este homem entenda a visão.

16I heard a man’s voice between the banks of the Ulai, which called, and said, Gabriel, make this man to understand the vision.

17Quando ele se aproximou de onde eu estava, fiquei amedrontado, e caí com o rosto em terra. Mas ele me disse: Filho do homem, sabe que esta visão se refere aos tempos do fim.

17So he came near where I stood; and when he came, I was frightened, and fell on my face: but he said to me, Understand, son of man; for the vision belongs to the time of the end.

18Enquanto ele falava comigo, fiquei em transe, com o rosto em terra; porém ele me tocou e me pôs em pé;

18Now as he was speaking with me, I fell into a deep sleep with my face toward the ground; but he touched me, and set me upright.

19e disse: Eu te revelarei o que acontecerá nos últimos tempos da ira, pois isso pertence ao tempo determinado do fim.

19He said, Behold, I will make you know what shall be in the latter time of the indignation; for it belongs to the appointed time of the end.

20Aquele carneiro de dois chifres que viste são os reis da Média e da Pérsia.

20The ram which you saw, that had the two horns, they are the kings of Media and Persia.

21Mas o bode peludo é o rei da Grécia; e o grande chifre que tinha entre os olhos é o primeiro rei.

21The rough male goat is the king of Greece: and the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king.
AS21
22Os quatro chifres que se levantaram no lugar do que foi quebrado significa que quatro reinos se levantarão da mesma nação, mas não com a força dela.

22As for that which was broken, in the place where four stood up, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not with his power.

23Mas, no fim do reinado deles, quando os transgressores tiverem chegado ao extremo, um rei de aparência feroz e que discerne enigmas se levantará.

23In the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors have come to the full, a king of fierce face, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up.

24Ele terá grande poder, mas não de si mesmo; destruirá terrivelmente, prosperará, fará o que desejar, e destruirá os poderosos e o povo santo.

24His power shall be mighty, but not by his own power; and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper in what he does; and he shall destroy the mighty ones and the holy people.

25Fará o engano prosperar sob sua mão com sutileza; se engrandecerá e destruirá muitos que vivem em segurança; e se levantará contra o príncipe dos príncipes, mas será quebrado sem intervenção de mão humana.

25Through his policy he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and he shall destroy many in their security. He shall also stand up against the prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.

26E a visão da tarde e da manhã, que foi dita, é verdadeira. Tu, porém, sela a visão, porque se refere a dias muito distantes.

26The vision of the evenings and mornings which has been told is true: but seal up the vision; for it belongs to many days to come.

27E eu, Daniel, desmaiei e fiquei doente alguns dias; então me levantei e tratei dos negócios do rei. Eu fiquei perplexo acerca da visão, pois ninguém podia entendê-la.

27I, Daniel, fainted, and was sick certain days; then I rose up, and did the king’s business: and I wondered at the vision, but no one understood it.
