1Then Jonah prayed to his God from the belly of the fish.

2e disse: Clamei ao SENHOR na minha angústia, e ele me respondeu; do ventre do Sheol gritei, e tu ouviste a minha voz.

2He prayed:"In trouble, deep trouble, I prayed to God.He answered me.From the belly of the grave I cried, 'Help!'You heard my cry.

3Pois me lançaste nas profundezas, no coração dos mares, e a corrente das águas me cercou; todas as tuas torrentes e ondas passaram por cima de mim.

3You threw me into ocean's depths,into a watery grave,With ocean waves, ocean breakerscrashing over me.

4Eu disse: Fui expulso da tua presença; como poderei ver o teu santo templo novamente?

4I said, 'I've been thrown away,thrown out, out of your sight.I'll never again lay eyeson your Holy Temple.'

9Mas eu te oferecerei sacrifício com voz de ação de graças; pagarei o meu voto. A salvação pertence ao SENHOR.

10O SENHOR deu ordens ao peixe, e este vomitou Jonas na terra.
