1Naquele tempo, Jesus passou pelos campos de cereais num dia de sábado; e os seus discípulos, sentindo fome, começaram a colher espigas e a comer.

1At that time Jesus was going through a field of grain on the sabbath. His disciples were hungry and began to pick the heads of grain and eat them.

2Vendo isso, os fariseus lhe disseram: Os teus discípulos estão fazendo o que não é permitido no sábado.
NABRE
2When the Pharisees saw this, they said to him, "See, your disciples are doing what is unlawful to do on the sabbath."

3Ele, porém, lhes disse: Acaso não lestes o que Davi fez quando ele e seus companheiros tiveram fome?

3He said to them, "Have you not read what David did when he and his companions were hungry,

4Como ele entrou na casa de Deus, e com eles comeu os pães consagrados, o que não lhe era permitido comer, nem a seus companheiros, mas somente aos sacerdotes?

4how he went into the house of God and ate the bread of offering, which neither he nor his companions but only the priests could lawfully eat?

5Ou não lestes na Lei que, aos sábados, os sacerdotes no templo infringem o sábado e ficam sem culpa?

5Or have you not read in the law that on the sabbath the priests serving in the temple violate the sabbath and are innocent?

6Mas eu vos digo que aqui está quem é maior do que o templo.
NABRE
6I say to you, something greater than the temple is here.

7Se, porém, soubésseis o que significa: Quero misericórdia, e não sacrifícios, não condenaríeis os inocentes.

7If you knew what this meant, 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice,' you would not have condemned these innocent men.

8Porque o Filho do homem é Senhor do sábado.

8For the Son of Man is Lord of the sabbath."

9Partindo dali, Jesus entrou na sinagoga deles.

9Moving on from there, he went into their synagogue.

10E estava ali um homem que tinha uma das mãos atrofiada; e, procurando uma razão para acusar Jesus, eles o interrogaram: É permitido curar aos sábados?

10And behold, there was a man there who had a withered hand. They questioned him, "Is it lawful to cure on the sabbath?" so that they might accuse him.

11E ele lhes disse: Quem de vós é o homem que, se tiver uma só ovelha e num sábado ela cair num buraco, não a pegará e a tirará de lá?

11He said to them, "Which one of you who has a sheep that falls into a pit on the sabbath will not take hold of it and lift it out?

12Quanto mais vale um homem do que uma ovelha! Portanto, é permitido fazer o bem no sábado.
NABRE
12How much more valuable a person is than a sheep. So it is lawful to do good on the sabbath."

13Então, Jesus disse àquele homem: Estende a mão. E ele a estendeu, e foi restaurada como a outra.

13Then he said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." He stretched it out, and it was restored as sound as the other.

14Os fariseus, porém, saindo dali, conspiravam contra ele para o matar.
NABRE
14But the Pharisees went out and took counsel against him to put him to death.
AS21
15Percebendo isso, Jesus retirou-se dali. Muitos o seguiram; e ele curou a todos;

15When Jesus realized this, he withdrew from that place. Many followed him, and he cured them all,

16e advertiu-lhes de que não dissessem quem ele era;
NABRE
16but he warned them not to make him known.

17para que se cumprisse o que havia sido falado pelo profeta Isaías:

17This was to fulfill what had been spoken through Isaiah the prophet:

18Aqui está o meu servo que escolhi, o meu amado em quem meu ser se agrada; porei sobre ele o meu Espírito, e ele anunciará justiça aos gentios.

18"Behold, my servant whom I have chosen, my beloved in whom I delight;I shall place my spirit upon him,and he will proclaim justice to the Gentiles.

19Não entrará em discussão, nem gritará, nem se ouvirá pelas ruas a sua voz.
NABRE
19He will not contend or cry out,nor will anyone hear his voice in the streets.

20Não esmagará a cana quebrada, e não apagará o pavio que fumega, até que faça triunfar a justiça;
NABRE
20A bruised reed he will not break,a smoldering wick he will not quench,until he brings justice to victory.
AS21
21e os gentios terão esperança em seu nome.
NABRE
21And in his name the Gentiles will hope."
AS21
22Então lhe trouxeram um endemoninhado cego e mudo; e Jesus o curou, de modo que ele passou a falar e a ver.

22Then they brought to him a demoniac who was blind and mute. He cured the mute person so that he could speak and see.

23E, espantada, toda a multidão dizia: Será este o Filho de Davi?
NABRE
23All the crowd was astounded, and said, "Could this perhaps be the Son of David?"
AS21
24Mas os fariseus, ouvindo isso, disseram: Este homem expulsa os demônios somente por meio de Belzebu, o chefe dos demônios.
NABRE
24But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, "This man drives out demons only by the power of Beelzebul, the prince of demons."
AS21
25Mas Jesus, conhecendo-lhes os pensamentos, disse-lhes: Todo reino dividido contra si mesmo será destruído; e toda cidade, ou casa, dividida contra si mesma não subsistirá.

25But he knew what they were thinking and said to them, "Every kingdom divided against itself will be laid waste, and no town or house divided against itself will stand.

26Se Satanás expulsa a Satanás, está dividido contra si mesmo. Como o seu reino sobreviverá?
NABRE
26And if Satan drives out Satan, he is divided against himself; how, then, will his kingdom stand?
AS21
27E, se expulso os demônios por meio de Belzebu, por quem os vossos seguidores os expulsam? Por isso, eles mesmos serão vossos juízes.
NABRE
27And if I drive out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your own people drive them out? Therefore they will be your judges.
AS21
28Mas, se é pelo Espírito de Deus que expulso os demônios, então o reino de Deus chegou a vós.
NABRE
28But if it is by the Spirit of God that I drive out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.
AS21
29Como pode alguém entrar na casa do valente e roubar-lhe os bens, sem que primeiro o amarre? Só depois lhe saqueará a casa.
NABRE
29How can anyone enter a strong man's house and steal his property, unless he first ties up the strong man? Then he can plunder his house.
AS21
30Quem não está comigo, está contra mim; e quem comigo não ajunta, espalha.
NABRE
30Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.
AS21
31Portanto, vos digo: Todo tipo de pecado e blasfêmia será perdoado aos homens; mas a blasfêmia contra o Espírito não será perdoada.
NABRE
31Therefore, I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven people, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.

32Se alguém disser alguma palavra contra o Filho do homem, isso lhe será perdoado; mas se alguém falar contra o Espírito Santo, não lhe será perdoado, nem neste mundo, nem no vindouro.

32And whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven; but whoever speaks against the holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.

33Pelo fruto se conhece a árvore; se a árvore é boa, seu fruto será bom; se a árvore é má, seu fruto será mau.

33"Either declare the tree good and its fruit is good, or declare the tree rotten and its fruit is rotten, for a tree is known by its fruit.

34Raça de víboras! Como podeis falar coisas boas, sendo maus? Pois a boca fala do que o coração está cheio.
NABRE
34You brood of vipers, how can you say good things when you are evil? For from the fullness of the heart the mouth speaks.

35O homem bom tira coisas boas do seu bom tesouro; o homem mau tira coisas más do seu mau tesouro.
NABRE
35A good person brings forth good out of a store of goodness, but an evil person brings forth evil out of a store of evil.

36Digo-vos que, no dia do juízo, os homens terão de prestar contas de toda palavra inútil que proferirem.
NABRE
36I tell you, on the day of judgment people will render an account for every careless word they speak.
AS21
37Porque pelas tuas palavras serás absolvido, e pelas tuas palavras serás condenado.
NABRE
37By your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned."
AS21
38Então alguns escribas e fariseus tomaram a palavra e disseram: Mestre, queremos ver algum sinal da tua parte.
NABRE
38Then some of the scribes and Pharisees said to him, "Teacher, we wish to see a sign from you."
AS21
39Mas ele lhes respondeu: Uma geração má e adúltera pede um milagre; mas nenhum milagre lhe será dado, senão o do profeta Jonas;
NABRE
39He said to them in reply, "An evil and unfaithful generation seeks a sign, but no sign will be given it except the sign of Jonah the prophet.

40pois, assim como Jonas esteve três dias e três noites no ventre do grande peixe, assim o Filho do homem estará três dias e três noites no coração da terra.
NABRE
40Just as Jonah was in the belly of the whale three days and three nights, so will the Son of Man be in the heart of the earth three days and three nights.
AS21
41Os habitantes de Nínive se levantarão no juízo contra esta geração e a condenarão, pois se arrependeram com a pregação de Jonas. E aqui está quem é maior que Jonas.

41At the judgment, the men of Nineveh will arise with this generation and condemn it, because they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and there is something greater than Jonah here.

42A rainha do Sul se levantará no juízo contra esta geração e a condenará, pois veio dos confins da terra para ouvir a sabedoria de Salomão. E aqui está quem é maior que Salomão.

42At the judgment the queen of the south will arise with this generation and condemn it, because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and there is something greater than Solomon here.

43Quando um espírito impuro sai de um homem, anda por lugares áridos, buscando repouso, mas não o encontra;

43"When an unclean spirit goes out of a person it roams through arid regions searching for rest but finds none.
AS21
44então diz: Voltarei para minha casa, de onde saí. E, chegando, encontra-a desocupada, varrida e arrumada.
NABRE
44Then it says, 'I will return to my home from which I came.' But upon returning, it finds it empty, swept clean, and put in order.
AS21
45Então vai e leva consigo outros sete espíritos piores que ele, os quais, entrando, passam a habitar a casa. E o último estado desse homem torna-se pior que o primeiro. Assim também acontecerá a esta geração perversa.

45Then it goes and brings back with itself seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they move in and dwell there; and the last condition of that person is worse than the first. Thus it will be with this evil generation."

46Enquanto ele ainda falava às multidões, sua mãe e seus irmãos estavam do lado de fora, querendo falar com ele.

46While he was still speaking to the crowds, his mother and his brothers appeared outside, wishing to speak with him.

47E alguém lhe disse: Tua mãe e teus irmãos estão lá fora e querem falar contigo.

48Ele, porém, respondeu ao que lhe falava: Quem é minha mãe? E quem são meus irmãos?
NABRE
48But he said in reply to the one who told him, "Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?"
AS21
49E, apontando com a mão para os discípulos, disse: Aqui estão minha mãe e meus irmãos.
NABRE
49And stretching out his hand toward his disciples, he said, "Here are my mother and my brothers.
AS21
50Pois quem fizer a vontade de meu Pai que está no céu, este é meu irmão, irmã e mãe.
NABRE
50For whoever does the will of my heavenly Father is my brother, and sister, and mother."
