1Então vieram Macla, Noa, Hogla, Milca e Tirza, filhas de Zelofeade, filho de Héfer, filho de Gileade, filho de Maquir, filho de Manassés, das famílias de Manassés, filho de José.

1The daughters of Zelophehad showed up. Their father was the son of Hepher son of Gilead son of Makir son of Manasseh, belonging to the clans of Manasseh son of Joseph. The daughters were Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.

2Elas se apresentaram diante de Moisés, do sacerdote Eleazar, diante dos líderes e de toda a comunidade, na entrada da tenda da revelação, dizendo:

2They came to the entrance of the Tent of Meeting. They stood before Moses and Eleazar the priest and before the leaders and the congregation and said,

3Nosso pai morreu no deserto. Ele não estava com os que se ajuntaram contra o SENHOR, ou seja, no grupo de Coré, mas morreu por seu próprio pecado e não teve filhos.

3"Our father died in the wilderness. He wasn't part of Korah's rebel anti-God gang. He died for his own sins. And he left no sons.

4Por que se tiraria o nome de nosso pai da sua família, por não ter tido um filho? Dai-nos uma propriedade entre os irmãos de nosso pai.
MSG
4But why should our father's name die out from his clan just because he had no sons? So give us an inheritance among our father's relatives."

5E Moisés levou essa causa diante do SENHOR.

5Moses brought their case to God.

6Então o SENHOR disse a Moisés:

7O que as filhas de Zelofeade dizem está certo. Tu lhes darás uma propriedade como herança entre os irmãos do pai delas e farás com que recebam a herança do pai.

7"Zelophehad's daughters are right. Give them land as an inheritance among their father's relatives. Give them their father's inheritance.

8E dirás aos israelitas: Se morrer um homem, e não tiver filho, dareis sua herança à sua filha.
MSG
8"Then tell the People of Israel, If a man dies and leaves no son, give his inheritance to his daughter.
AS21
9E, se não tiver filha, dareis a herança a seus irmãos.
MSG
9If he has no daughter, give it to his brothers.
AS21
10Mas se não tiver irmãos, dareis sua herança aos irmãos de seu pai.
MSG
10If he has no brothers, give it to his father's brothers.
AS21
11Mas, se também seu pai não tiver irmãos, então dareis a herança a seu parente mais chegado na família, para que seja dele. Isto será estatuto de direito para os israelitas, conforme o SENHOR ordenou a Moisés.

11If his father had no brothers, give it to the nearest relative so that the inheritance stays in the family. This is the standard procedure for the People of Israel, as commanded by God through Moses."

12Depois dessas coisas, o SENHOR disse a Moisés: Sobe a este monte de Abarim e vê a terra que dei aos israelitas.

12God said to Moses, "Climb up into the Abarim Mountains and look over at the land that I am giving to the People of Israel.

13E, depois de tê-la visto, tu também serás recolhido ao teu povo, como aconteceu com teu irmão Arão;

13When you've had a good look you'll be joined to your ancestors in the grave—yes, you also along with Aaron your brother.

14porque no deserto de Zim, no confronto da comunidade, fostes rebeldes à minha palavra, não me santificando diante dos israelitas a respeito das águas; estas são as águas de Meribá de Cades, no deserto de Zim.

14This goes back to the day when the congregation quarreled in the Wilderness of Zin and you didn't honor me in holy reverence before them in the matter of the waters, the Waters of Meribah (Quarreling) at Kadesh in the Wilderness of Zin."

15Moisés respondeu ao SENHOR:

15Moses responded to God:

16Que o SENHOR, Deus dos espíritos de toda a humanidade, nomeie um homem para liderar a comunidade;
MSG
16"Let God, the God of the spirits of everyone living, set a man over this community
AS21
17alguém que saia e entre à frente deles e que os faça sair e entrar, para que a comunidade do SENHOR não seja como ovelhas que não têm pastor.
MSG
17to lead them, to show the way ahead and bring them back home so God's community will not be like sheep without a shepherd."

18Então o SENHOR disse a Moisés: Toma Josué, filho de Num, homem em quem há o Espírito, e impõe-lhe as mãos;

18God said to Moses, "Take Joshua the son of Nun—the Spirit is in him!—and place your hand on him.

19apresenta-o diante do sacerdote Eleazar e de toda a comunidade, e ordena-o diante deles;
MSG
19Stand him before Eleazar the priest in front of the entire congregation and commission him with everyone watching.
AS21
20e porás da tua glória sobre ele, para que toda a comunidade dos israelitas lhe obedeça.
MSG
20Pass your magisterial authority over to him so that the whole congregation of the People of Israel will listen obediently to him.
AS21
21Ele se apresentará diante do sacerdote Eleazar, que perguntará por ele na decisão do Urim perante o SENHOR. Entrarão e sairão segundo a ordem de Eleazar, ele e todos os israelitas, isto é, toda a comunidade.

21He is to consult with Eleazar the priest who, using the oracle-Urim, will prayerfully advise him in the presence of God. He will command the People of Israel, the entire community, in all their comings and goings."

22Então Moisés fez conforme o SENHOR havia ordenado: tomou Josué, apresentou-o diante do sacerdote Eleazar e de toda a comunidade,

22Moses followed God's orders. He took Joshua and stood him before Eleazar the priest in front of the entire community.

23impôs-lhe as mãos e o ordenou, conforme o SENHOR havia falado por meio de Moisés.
MSG
23He laid his hands on him and commissioned him, following the procedures God had given Moses.
