1Ah! Rebellious and polluted,the tyrannical city!

2Sie will nicht gehorchen noch sich züchtigen lassen; sie will auf den HERRN nicht trauen noch sich zu ihrem Gott halten.

2It listens to no voice,accepts no correction;In the Lord it has not trusted,nor drawn near to its God.

3Ihre Fürsten sind unter ihnen brüllende Löwen und ihre Richter Wölfe am Abend, die nichts bis auf den Morgen übriglassen.

3Its officials within itare roaring lions;Its judges are desert wolvesthat have no bones to gnaw by morning.

4Ihre Propheten sind leichtfertig und Verächter; ihre Priester entweihen das Heiligtum und deuten das Gesetz freventlich.

4Its prophets are reckless,treacherous people;Its priests profane what is holy,and do violence to the law.

5Der HERR, der unter ihnen ist, ist gerecht und tut kein Arges. Er läßt alle Morgen seine Rechte öffentlich lehren und läßt nicht ab; aber die bösen Leute wollen sich nicht schämen lernen.

5But the Lord in its midst is just,doing no wrong;Morning after morning rendering judgmentunfailingly, at dawn;the wicked, however, know no shame.

6Ich habe Völker ausgerottet, ihre Schlösser verwüstet und ihre Gassen so leer gemacht, daß niemand darauf geht; ihre Städte sind zerstört, daß niemand mehr da wohnt.

6I have cut down nations,their battlements are laid waste;I have made their streets deserted,with no one passing through;Their cities are devastated,with no one dwelling in them.

7Ich ließ dir sagen: Mich sollst du fürchten und dich lassen züchtigen! so würde ihre Wohnung nicht ausgerottet und der keines kommen, womit ich sie heimsuchen werde. Aber sie sind fleißig, allerlei Bosheit zu üben.

7I said, "Surely now you will fear me,you will accept correction;They cannot fail to seeall I have brought upon them."Yet the more eagerly they have doneall their corrupt deeds.

8Darum, spricht der HERR, müsset ihr mein auch harren, bis ich mich aufmache zu seiner Zeit, da ich auch rechten werde und die Heiden versammeln und die Königreiche zuhauf bringen, meinen Zorn über sie zu schütten, ja, allen Zorn meines Grimmes; denn alle Welt soll durch meines Eifers Feuer verzehrt werden.

8Therefore, wait for me—oracle of the Lord—until the day when I arise as accuser;For it is my decision to gather nations,to assemble kingdoms,In order to pour out upon them my wrath,all my blazing anger;For in the fire of my passionall the earth will be consumed.

9Alsdann will ich den Völkern reine Lippen geben, daß sie alle sollen des HERRN Namen anrufen und ihm einträchtig dienen.

9For then I will make purethe speech of the peoples,That they all may call upon the name of the Lord,to serve him with one accord;

10Man wird mir meine Anbeter, mein zerstreutes Volk, von jenseit des Wassers im Mohrenlande herbeibringen zum Geschenk.

10From beyond the rivers of Ethiopiaand as far as the recesses of the North,they shall bring me offerings.

11Zur selben Zeit wirst du dich nicht mehr schämen alles deines Tuns, womit du wider mich übertreten hast; denn ich will die stolzen Heiligen von dir tun, daß du nicht mehr sollst dich überheben auf meinem heiligen Berge.

11On that dayYou will not be ashamedof all your deeds,when you rebelled against me;For then I will remove from your midstthe proud braggarts,And you shall no longer exalt yourselfon my holy mountain.

12Ich will in dir lassen übrigbleiben ein armes, geringes Volk; die werden auf des HERRN Namen trauen.

12But I will leave as a remnant in your midsta people humble and lowly,Who shall take refuge in the name of the Lord—

13Die übrigen in Israel werden kein Böses tun noch Falsches reden, und man wird in ihrem Munde keine betrügliche Zunge finden; sondern sie sollen weiden und ruhen ohne alle Furcht.

13the remnant of Israel.They shall do no wrongand speak no lies;Nor shall there be found in their mouthsa deceitful tongue;They shall pasture and lie downwith none to disturb them.

14Jauchze, du Tochter Zion! Rufe, Israel! Freue dich und sei fröhlich von ganzem Herzen, du Tochter Jerusalem!

15denn der HERR hat deine Strafe weggenommen und deine Feinde abgewendet. Der HERR, der König Israels, ist bei dir, daß du dich vor keinem Unglück mehr fürchten darfst.

15The Lord has removed the judgment against you,he has turned away your enemies;The King of Israel, the Lord, is in your midst,you have no further misfortune to fear.

16Zur selben Zeit wird man sprechen zu Jerusalem: Fürchte dich nicht! und zu Zion: Laß deine Hände nicht laß werden!

17denn der HERR, dein Gott, ist bei dir, ein starker Heiland; er wird sich über dich freuen und dir freundlich sein und vergeben und wird über dir mit Schall fröhlich sein.

18Die Geängsteten, so auf kein Fest kommen, will ich zusammenbringen; denn sie gehören dir zu und müssen Schmach tragen.

19Siehe, ich will's mit allen denen aus machen zur selben Zeit, die dich bedrängen, und will den Hinkenden helfen und die Verstoßenen sammeln und will sie zu Lob und Ehren machen in allen Landen, darin man sie verachtet.

19At that time I will dealwith all who oppress you;I will save the lame,and assemble the outcasts;I will give them praise and renownin every land where they were shamed.

20Zu der Zeit will ich euch hereinbringen und euch zu der Zeit versammeln. Denn ich will euch zu Lob und Ehren machen unter allen Völkern auf Erden, wenn ich euer Gefängnis wenden werde vor euren Augen, spricht der HERR.
