Jó 34Jó 36
MSG
1Elihu lit into Job again:
AMP
1Elihu continued speaking and said,
MSG
2"Does this kind of thing make any sense?First you say, 'I'm perfectly innocent before God.'
AMP
2"Do you think this is according to justice? Do you say, 'My righteousness is more than God's'?
MSG
3And then you say, 'It doesn't make a bit of differencewhether I've sinned or not.'
AMP
3"For you say, 'What advantage have you ? What profit will I have, more than if I had sinned?'
MSG
4"Well, I'm going to show youthat you don't know what you're talking about, neither you nor your friends.
AMP
4"I will answer you, And your companions with you.
MSG
5Look up at the sky. Take a long hard look.See those clouds towering above you?
AMP
5"Look to the heavens and see; And behold the skies which are higher than you.
MSG
6If you sin, what difference could that make to God?No matter how much you sin, will it matter to him?
AMP
6"If you have sinned, what do you accomplish against Him? And if your transgressions are multiplied, what have you done to Him?
MSG
7Even if you're good, what would God get out of that?Do you think he's dependent on your accomplishments?
AMP
7"If you are righteous, what do you give God, Or what does He receive from your hand?
MSG
8The only ones who care whether you're good or badare your family and friends and neighbors.God's not dependent on your behavior.
AMP
8"Your wickedness affects only a man such as you, And your righteousness affects only a son of man .
MSG
9"When times get bad, people cry out for help. They cry for relief from being kicked around,
AMP
9"Because of the multitudes of oppressions the people cry out; They cry for help because of the arm of the mighty.
MSG
10But never give God a thought when things go well, when God puts spontaneous songs in their hearts,
AMP
10"But no one says, 'Where is God my Maker, Who gives songs in the night,
MSG
11When God sets out the entire creation as a science classroom, using birds and beasts to teach wisdom.
AMP
11Who teaches us more than the beasts of the earth And makes us wiser than the birds of the heavens?'
MSG
12People are arrogantly indifferent to God—until, of course, they're in trouble, and then God is indifferent to them.
AMP
12"The people cry out, but He does not answer Because of the pride of evil men.
MSG
13There's nothing behind such prayers except panic;the Almighty pays them no mind.
AMP
13"Surely God will not listen to an empty cry , Nor will the Almighty regard it.
MSG
14So why would he notice youjust because you say you're tired of waiting to be heard,
AMP
14"Even though you say that you do not see Him , Yet your case is before Him, and you must wait for Him!
MSG
15Or waiting for him to get good and angryand do something about the world's problems?
AMP
15"And now, because He has not punished in His anger, Nor has He acknowledged transgression and arrogance well ,
MSG
16"Job, you talk sheer nonsense—nonstop nonsense!"
AMP
16Job uselessly opens his mouth And multiplies words without knowledge ."
