1Ah! Rebellious and polluted,the tyrannical city!

2Ela não obedeceu à voz, não aceitou a correção, não confiou em Jeová, não se aproximou do seu Deus.

2It listens to no voice,accepts no correction;In the Lord it has not trusted,nor drawn near to its God.

3Os seus príncipes no meio dela são leões rugidores, e os seus juízes, lobos da tarde; nada deixam até o dia seguinte.

3Its officials within itare roaring lions;Its judges are desert wolvesthat have no bones to gnaw by morning.

4Os seus profetas são levianos, homens traiçoeiros; os seus sacerdotes têm profanado o santuário, têm violado a lei.

4Its prophets are reckless,treacherous people;Its priests profane what is holy,and do violence to the law.

5Jeová no meio dela é justo; ele não fará iniquidade; de manhã em manhã, traz ele à luz o seu juízo; não falha; o injusto, porém, não conhece a vergonha.

5But the Lord in its midst is just,doing no wrong;Morning after morning rendering judgmentunfailingly, at dawn;the wicked, however, know no shame.

6Tenho exterminado nações, os seus baluartes estão desolados; tenho tornado desertas as suas ruas, de sorte que ninguém passe por elas; as suas cidades estão destruídas, de sorte que não fique ninguém e não haja quem as habite.

6I have cut down nations,their battlements are laid waste;I have made their streets deserted,with no one passing through;Their cities are devastated,with no one dwelling in them.

7Eu disse: Certamente, me temerás, aceitarás a correção; assim, não seria exterminada a tua habitação, segundo tudo o que tenho ordenado a respeito de ti. Eles, porém, se levantaram cedo e corromperam todos os seus feitos.

7I said, "Surely now you will fear me,you will accept correction;They cannot fail to seeall I have brought upon them."Yet the more eagerly they have doneall their corrupt deeds.

8Portanto, espera-me, diz Jeová, até o dia em que eu me levantar para o despojo; porque o meu intento é congregar as nações, para que reúna os reinos, a fim de derramar sobre eles a minha indignação, todo o furor da minha ira; pois toda a terra será devorada pelo fogo do meu zelo.

8Therefore, wait for me—oracle of the Lord—until the day when I arise as accuser;For it is my decision to gather nations,to assemble kingdoms,In order to pour out upon them my wrath,all my blazing anger;For in the fire of my passionall the earth will be consumed.

10From beyond the rivers of Ethiopiaand as far as the recesses of the North,they shall bring me offerings.

11Naquele dia, serás envergonhado por causa de todos os teus feitos, nos quais tens transgredido contra mim; porque então tirarei do meio de ti os que exultam na tua majestade, e nunca mais te ensoberbecerás no meu santo monte.

11On that dayYou will not be ashamedof all your deeds,when you rebelled against me;For then I will remove from your midstthe proud braggarts,And you shall no longer exalt yourselfon my holy mountain.

12Deixarei no meio de ti um povo pobre e necessitado, e eles confiarão em o nome de Jeová.

12But I will leave as a remnant in your midsta people humble and lowly,Who shall take refuge in the name of the Lord—

13O resto de Israel não fará iniquidade, nem falará mentiras; não se achará na boca deles língua enganosa. Pois pastarão e se deitarão, e não haverá quem os espante.

13the remnant of Israel.They shall do no wrongand speak no lies;Nor shall there be found in their mouthsa deceitful tongue;They shall pasture and lie downwith none to disturb them.

14Canta, filha de Sião, exulta Israel; alegra-te e regozija-te de todo o teu coração, filha de Jerusalém.

15Jeová tem tirado os teus juízos, tem lançado fora o teu inimigo; o Rei de Israel, isto é, Jeová, está no meio de ti; não temerás daqui em diante mal algum.

15The Lord has removed the judgment against you,he has turned away your enemies;The King of Israel, the Lord, is in your midst,you have no further misfortune to fear.

16On that day, it shall be said to Jerusalem:Do not fear, Zion,do not be discouraged!

17Jeová teu Deus está no meio de ti; o poderoso que salvará, se regozijará em ti com alegria, descansará no seu amor, exultará sobre ti com júbilo.

17The Lord, your God, is in your midst,a mighty savior,Who will rejoice over you with gladness,and renew you in his love,Who will sing joyfully because of you,

18Congregarei os que em tristeza suspiram pela assembleia solene, os quais te pertenciam e para quem era um opróbrio o peso que estava sobre ti.

18as on festival days.I will remove disaster from among you,so that no one may recount your disgrace.

19Eis que, nesse tempo, tratarei de todos os que te afligirem; salvarei a que coxeia, e recolherei a que estava expulsa, e farei deles um louvor e um nome em toda a terra em que tem sido envergonhados.

19At that time I will dealwith all who oppress you;I will save the lame,and assemble the outcasts;I will give them praise and renownin every land where they were shamed.

20Naquele tempo, vos farei voltar, naquele tempo, vos ajuntarei; porque farei de vós um nome e um louvor entre todos os povos da terra, quando eu fizer voltar o vosso cativeiro diante dos vossos olhos, diz Jeová.

20At that time I will bring you home,and at that time I will gather you;For I will give you renown and praise,among all the peoples of the earth,When I bring about your restorationbefore your very eyes, says the Lord.
